I’m the Reason Sucker Punch was a box office flop

Have you seen Sucker Punch directed by zac Snyder and staring a bunch of that guys, or, that girls, as it were?? if its box office numbers are to be believed, than no, no you did not. don't feel bad, you were not alone. it made about fifteen bucks domestic and is considered one of, if not the biggest flops of the year, so far. I sat down to watch it the other day and you know what? IT WAS FUCKING INCREDIBLE!! 4/5 Star movie!  Check out my review after the jump. its not for everyone, but it’s a pretty cool movie. go red box it! its a buck, you cheap ass!

casue this is what you want to engage clockwork nazi zombies in trench warfare with

I read online that it’s a demanding movie, and I think that’s the best way to describe Sucker Punch. you really need to give yourself over to the story. Its convoluted and somewhat hard to follow.there are layers on top of layers and the root story gets lost in the fold. it is a "multi view" movie, without question, but the beauty of it is you will WANT to watch it again. seeing things for the second time gives you a deeper understanding of the story and the plot is more manageable and understandable when you already know where it ends up. if you can get your hands on the extended version, do yourself the favor and watch that version. it’s a touch longer (about 22 minutes longer , thats what she said, but i digress) than the theatrical cut, but the added/ extended scenes really do add to the story and it helps make a little more sense of the whole cinematic hodge podge.

Also, watching this girl hop around in her underpants or a Japanese school girl outfit doesn't hurt.

then there are the action scenes. they are…just great.  just goofy, neat shit all mixed in together in 4 separate awesomely ridiculous 15 minute music videos featuring half naked 20 year old girls. Seriously. in one scene, the girls, wearing essentially underwear with fabric thrown about their bodies, armed with modern automatic rifles with red dot sights and an asian in a mech (yup) fight clockwork Nazi zombies in a trench war. did you read that stupid shit? Clockwork nazi zombies… in a trench…with ASIANS!!! then, in another 15 minute music video, they fight a dragon with swords, machine guns, and a WW2 plane. it sounds stupid, but, I assure you, it works. i a world of remakes and re-dubs and squeals and prequels and me committing suicide because there are no new stories, at least SOMEONE is trying to come up with something new, and i tip my hat for that alone with Sucker Punch. I did my best  not give anything away about the story… you really just need to see it.

  1. I saw it over here in IMAX 3D. The action scenes were INCREDIBLE! I would watch those over and over... can't say I cared much for the "real world" story though. Did you notice it took place in Brattleboro, VT??? I'd say 3/5 stars - 5 for the visual set pieces, one for the rest. -Alex
